The present invention relates to a novel use of thiourea derivatives, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a thiourea derivative as an active ingredient for preventing or treating autoimmune diseases. The thiourea derivatives according to the present invention not only suppress the transcription of inflammatory genes including TNF-, IL-1, NOS2 and IL-6, but also suppress the action or formation of Th17 and increase the action of formation of regulatory T cells (Treg), and thus can be expected to be used beneficially in pharmaceutical compositions and health food compositions for preventing, alleviating or treating various autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis.본 발명은 티오우레아 유도체의 신규한 용도에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는 티오우레아 유도체를 유효성분으로 포함하는 자가면역질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 티오우레아 유도체는 TNF-α, IL-1β, NOS2, IL-6 등의 염증 유전자의 전사를 억제할 뿐만 아니라, Th17의 활성 또는 생성을 억제하고, 조절 T 세포(Regulatory T cell: Treg)의 활성 또는 생성을 증가시킬 수 있기 때문에, 류마티스 관절염을 비롯한 다양한 자가면역 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료를 위한 약학적 조성물, 건강식품 조성물 등에 유용하게 사용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
