The invention relates to acadesine derivatives as a drug, as well as to said derivatives for the treatment of cancer and particularly for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The invention further relates to a product containing said derivatives and at least one second active ingredient as a combination product to be simultaneously or separately administered, or administered over time, in the treatment of cancer, as well as to a pharmaceutical composition including said derivatives and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Finally, the invention relates to a method for the in vitro inhibition of the proliferation of cells, including contacting a cell with said derivatives in vitro, and to methods for synthesizing said derivatives.
