The present invention, in one aspect, relates to a composition, in particular a jelly, wherein the use of the composition as an adjunct is to facilitate ingestion of a solid oral drug, the composition being used as a jelly agent. Iota-carrageenan and citric acid as salivary agent, characterized in that the composition further comprises maltodextrin. In another embodiment, the composition includes a calcium sequestrant for modulation of the Ca ion activity of the composition. In one embodiment, the compositions are all 0.7-1.0% by weight iota-carrageenan, 0.06-0.07% citric acid and 1.5% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. Maltodextrin as well as an amount of calcium sequestering agent such that the Ca ion activity of the composition is between 20 and 80 ppm.
