An absorbent article (1) having a vertical direction and equipped with an absorbent body (10), a stomach-side member (3) positioned in the end section of the absorbent body (10) on one side thereof, and a back-side member (4) positioned in the end section on the other side thereof, wherein: the absorbent body (10) has a pair of leakage prevention walls (50) in both lateral end sections thereof； the leakage prevention walls (50) each have a non-skin-side section (52) and a skin-side section (51) provided with a plurality of elastic members (55), and are each further equipped with a joined section (61) where at least part of the facing surfaces of the skin-side section (51) and non-skin-side section (52) are joined to one another, and a non-joined section (62) which is provided above the joined section (61) and in which the facing surfaces are not joined to one another； the joined section (61) is provided to the inside relative to the tip of the leakage prevention walls (50) in the widthwise direction； and at least part of the joined section (61) overlaps the stomach-side member (3) or the back-side member (4) in the vertical direction.
