The present invention provides a method for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of glomerulonephritis associated with one or more disorders selected from the group consisting of Goodpastures syndrome, a vasculitic disorder, Wegeners disease, IgA nephropathy and an inflammatory disease with basement membrane involvement comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of agent which interacts with or modulates the expression or activity of a mammalian IL-6 polypeptide.
