To provide an electrostimulator and an electric stimulation method capable of suppressing generation of an unintended strong stimulus.SOLUTION: An electrostimulator 1 includes an electrode group 10 having three or more electrodes and driving means 20 for giving energy to the electrode group 10. With one electrode of the electrode group 10 as a first polarity, and a plurality of remaining electrodes as a second polarity, the driving means 20 sequentially switches the electrode as a first polarity, and gives energy to the electrode group 10. The electrostimulator includes connection defect detection means 30 for detecting a defect of electric connection by detecting whether or not an electric stimulus is given to a user when energy is given to the electrode group 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
