PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type disposable diaper which hardly causes an uncomfortable feeling and irritations to a skin by a side seal part, has excellent cushioning properties and touch around a waist, and shows a superior wearing feeling.
SOLUTION: The underpants type disposable diaper 1 includes a pair of the side seal parts 8 formed by fusing overlapped parts 7 of both side edge parts 6a of an abdominal side and both side edge parts 6b of a back side. The overlapped parts 7 include a waist end region 71 where the number of laminated sheets is more than that of the other regions 72, 73 in the end of a waist opening part side. Structures of laminated sheets of the abdominal side and the back side in the waist end region 71 each extend between the overlapped parts of the abdominal side and the back side. In the side seal part 8, the total length of the fused parts in a skin-side end 8e per unit length in the longitudinal direction in the seal region formed by fusing the waist end region 71 is less than the total length in the seal regions formed by fusing the regions 72, 73 located below the waist end region.
