PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device capable of performing reliable personal authentication.
SOLUTION: The biometric authentication device includes: an image pickup part for picking up an image of a living body two light sources different in wave band an authentication information storage part for storing positioning feature information and authentication feature information a feature extraction part for extracting feature information so as to position the biometric authentication from the image picked up by the image pickup part when lighted by one light source in authenticating, and extracting feature information so as to perform biometric authentication from the image picked up by the image pickup part when lighted by the other light source a positioning part for performing positioning on the basis of the positioning feature information stored in the authentication information storage part and the feature information for performing positioning extracted by the feature extraction part and a collation part for collating the authentication feature information stored in the authentication information storage part with the feature information for performing biometric authentication extracted by the feature extraction part in a state that the positioning has been performed.
