To prevent the waveform of ultrasonic pulses actually transmitted to a subject from being largely different from the waveform of ultrasonic pulses to be transmitted in an ultrasonic probe.
SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe comprises a backing material 2, a printed circuit board 3 provided ON the backing material 2, for which a base material 3b and a circuit conductor layer 3a are formed and a vibration element 4 provided ON the printed circuit board 3 for generating ultrasonic waves. The circuit conductor layer 3a becomes a matching layer for matching ultrasonic waves transmitted from the vibration element 4 to the printed circuit board 3 with the ultrasonic waves transmitted in a direction ON the opposite side of the side of the printed circuit board 3 by the vibration element 4.
