The aquarium of the present invention comprises: a water tank which stores water a cover which is formed above the water tank a plate which is placed at an inner lower end portion of the water tank with sand or pebbles placed thereon, and includes a plurality of holes formed to let fish excretions or floating materials pass therethrough a lift which is formed at the cover or an edge of the water tank to move the plate up or down a water discharge unit which has a discharge port formed at the bottom surface of the water tank to discharge water stored in the water tank, and a discharge pipe connected to the discharge port formed at a lower portion of the water tank and a water supply unit which has a filter which is connected to the discharge pipe and purifies water discharged from the discharge unit, and supplies water purified through the filter to the water tank.
