PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic puncture needle device capable of detecting the distance between the needle tip of a puncture needle and the pleura. SOLUTION: A miniaturized ultrasonic probe system is arranged in a puncture needle, and ultrasonic signals are transmitted and received at the tip of the needle tip of the puncture needle to acquire a plurality of echo signals at an axial depth. A desired area is set based on the characteristics of the change in the amplitude of the echo signal and the characteristics of the change in the depth, and the distance between the needle end of the puncture needle and the pleura is set to the optimum value during the execution of the intercostal nerve block and the spinal nerve block.
