PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively secure position accuracy of arrangement of shim members in passive shimming work of a magnet device of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: The magnetic device includes: a pair of magnetic field generation sources disposed with their vertically facing each other for generating a magnetic field on an imaging area and a magnetic field adjustment mechanism 11L and the like disposed at both sides of the imaging area, with their vertically facing each other for adjusting uniformity of the magnetic field. The magnetic field adjustment mechanism 11L and the like include shim members 20 as magnetic substances or permanent magnets, and a shim member fixing plate 19 that has a substantially circular or substantially polygonal outer peripheral shape, the surface of which is divided into a plurality of squares 14, and that fixes the shim members 20.
