The present invention provides a composition derived from natural products and containing a high content of piceatannol, and a method for preparing the same. In the present invention, passion fruit seeds are extracted to obtain a composition containing piceatannol in a content ranging from 0.0001 to 99.9 mass%. Further, when extracting piceatannol, after the passion fruit seeds have been crushed, at least one of a water-containing, alcohol-based solvent and a water-containing, ketone-based solvent is selected to add therein with stirring, and then piceatannol is extracted from the aforesaid solvent(s). Meanwhile, both of the alcohol-based solvent and the ketone-based solvent are preferably used for performing the extracting step.
