The present invention relates to a method for controlling undesired rats and mice comprising the steps of placing on a first day cholecalciferol baits at bait points in an environment to be protected and leaving the baits for a baiting time at the bait points, where the baiting time is less than 10 days for the control of mice and less than 15 days for the control of rats； or where the cholecalciferol baits are placed only on the first day of the baiting time and optionally on up to 3 further times within the baiting time in the environment to be protected.La présente invention concerne un procédé de lutte contre les rats et les souris indésirables comprenant les étapes consistant à placer le premier jour des appâts contenant du cholécalciférol en des points d'appâtage dans un environnement à protéger et à laisser les appâts pendant une période d'appâtage aux points d'appâtage, la période d'appâtage étant inférieure à 10 jours pour la lutte contre les souris et inférieure à 15 jours pour la lutte contre les rats ； ou bien, les appâts contenant du cholécalciférol sont placés uniquement le premier jour de la période d'appâtage et éventuellement jusqu'à 3 fois supplémentaires pendant la période d'appâtage dans l'environnement à protéger.
