Disclosed herein is the design, manufacturing, and use of medical devices comprising expandable bodies for treating saccular vascular aneurysms and occluding segments of blood vessels and other biological conduits. Exemplary expandable bodies include hollow gold structures that can be folded wrapped, and compressed, joined to a delivery device, advanced to location in the body of patient in need of treatment, expanded by injection of a fluid into the central void, and separated from the delivery device, remaining in place in an open, expanded form without the addition of support structures to the central void. Exemplary expandable bodies also include coiled nitinol wires that can be elongated, loaded into delivery catheters, advanced to location in the body of patient in need of treatment, and expelled from the delivery catheters using pusher devices. Disclosed herein are methods of using two or more medical devices comprising expandable bodies wherein the expandable bodies are placed adjacent to each other to occlude a saccular aneurysm, including the placement of a hollow metal “ballstent” expandable body using one medical device and a nitinol “accessory coil” using a second medical device wherein the accessory coil(s) contact both the wall of the aneurysm and the ballstent and exert force on the ballstent to aid in sealing the aneurysm mouth or neck. Embodiments of medical devices comprising hollow metal expandable bodies are disclosed i) wherein an external shaft of the delivery device functions both to enable the injection of radiographic contrast from the device hub to the device tip and to cause the expanded hollow metal expandable body from the delivery device; and ii) wherein a valve of the expandable body functions both to attach the expandable body to the delivery device and to close a neck of the expandable body to reduce the flow of blood through the central void of the expanded expandable device after detachment.本文中揭示用於治療囊狀血管動脈瘤及阻塞血管及其他生物管道之片段之包括可擴張體
