PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DICOM communication system and a DICOM communication program capable of introducing extended specifications, such as a specification of registering information about each medical apparatus like an AE title on a server and updating the information and a specification of searching a server for information about another medical apparatus, without influencing an existing operation in DICOM communication.SOLUTION: A DICOM communication system in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a registration information storing unit a registering unit and a changing unit. The registering unit writes apparatus information into the registration information storing unit in response to a demand from a DICOM communication client of a medical apparatus to register the apparatus information including identification information about the medical apparatus and information which indicates whether the medical apparatus is a new apparatus newly connected to DICOM communication or an existing apparatus connected to the DICOM communication.
