An MRI device is provided with a static magnetic field generating device (2) having static magnetic field generating sources (2a, 2b) for generating a homogeneous magnetic field (7) in a space, a gradient magnetic field generating device (3) having gradient magnetic field generating sources (3a, 3b) for superimposing a gradient magnetic field (9) on the homogeneous magnetic field (7), a pair of good conductor members (5a, 5c) provided on both sides of the direction of the homogeneous magnetic field (7) in the region (imaging space, 8) where the homogeneous magnetic field (7) is generated between the static magnetic field generating sources (2a, 2b) and the gradient magnetic field generating sources (3a, 3b), and a high-electric-resistance member (5b) disposed between the pair of good conductor members (5a, 5c) so as to span to both sides of the imaging space (8) in the direction of the homogeneous magnetic field (7). It is thereby possible to provide an MRI device capable of reducing heat generation and degradation of a tomographic image due to eddy currents.
