The present invention pertains to a gel-forming agent containing a sulfonamide and chitosan and having a powdered dosage form. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method having a step for using this gel-forming agent and a kit containing this gel-forming agent. The present invention provides a gel-forming agent having a therapeutic effect more remarkable than that of conventional sulfonamide and chitosan drugs alone； in particular, a gel-forming agent for protecting areas affected by bodily fluid leakages, and for treating wounds. In other words, by using a combination of a sulfonamide and chitosan in powder form, the pH of an affected area is maintained in a range that achieves a more therapeutic effect, and the antibacterial action of the sulfonamide is exhibited.
