PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide body detergent compositions by which good foaming is obtained even when using hard water, the compositions reducing a tight feeling after washing, and giving smoothness to the skin.SOLUTION: A body detergent composition contains a component (a): 0.1-20 mass% of a surfactant represented by formula (1), and a component (b): 10-50 mass% of C8-22 fatty acid salts, wherein the mass ratio (a)/(b) is 0.01-0.8.
