The present invention relates to a control method for a portable electronic device, wherein the portable electronic device includes switching unit, light source, light sensing device and control unit. The user utilizes the switching unit to select the detecting mode. The light is emitted from the light source to the object to generate a reflected light. The light sensing device detects the reflected light to generate a light sensing signal for the control unit to calculate corresponding result based on the selected mode. Therefore, single portable electronic device can achieve multiple functions and is more convenient for utilization.本發明為一種可攜式電子裝置的控制方法,其中該可攜式裝置包含有切換單元、光源、光學偵測器及控制單元,使用者透過切換單元來選擇所欲的偵測模式,光源投射出光線至物體上所產生的反射光,由該光學偵測器偵測該反射光以產生一光偵測訊號,而該控制單元透過該光偵測訊號,依據所選擇的模式,可計算出對應的結果,故可利用單一可攜式電子裝置可達成多項功能,以增加使用上的便利性。
