PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a cell immobilization base material coating membrane, which is specifically bonded only with a certain specified substance and controls unspecific interaction with other protein or the like.
SOLUTION: The material for the cell immobilization base material coating membrane includes the copolymer of a constituent unit (A) derived from 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine, a constituent unit (B) derived from a hydrophobic ethylene unsaturated compound and a constituent unit (C) derived from an ethylene unsaturated compound to which a sugar chain is added. It is preferable that the sugar chain is formed of glucose, galactose, mannose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetyl galactosamine, fucose, xylose, sialic acid and the derivatives.
