PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide imaging devices which can be loaded to two or more kinds of electronic endoscopes where layouts etc., of matter incorporated in distal end parts are different from each other.
SOLUTION: The imaging devices 30A and 30B are provided with: objective optical system units 31A and 31 which form an image of a subject a solid imaging element 37a which carries out photoelectric conversion of the image of the subject formed by the objective optical system units 31A and 31, and a solid imaging element unit 32 having a signal cable 39 for transmitting imaging signals obtained from the solid imaging element 37a. In the imaging devices 30A and 30B, the outer diameter of the objective optical system units 31A and 31 is constituted to be smaller than that of the solid imaging element unit 32. The solid imaging element unit 32 has a notch part 75 formed on its outer-peripheral surface so that its outer shape may be nearly symmetrical with respect to the centers of the optical axes of the objective optical system units 31A and 31.
