PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating subject having chronic kidney disease.SOLUTION: A method includes a step of administering an effective amount of an organic ferric compound having at least about 2 mg/cm/min rate of dissolution to a subject. The organic ferric compound is produced according to a method including: (a) a step of obtaining a ferric salt； (b) a step of adding an alkali metal hydroxide to the ferric salt under a condition suitable to generate a mixture containing polyiron oxide； (c) a step of isolating precipitate from the mixture； (d) a step of adding an organic acid to the precipitate； (e) a step of heating the organic acid and the precipitate thereby forming an organic acid ferric solution； and (f) a step of precipitating the organic ferric compound from the organic acid ferric solution by an organic solvent.
