Disclosed is a bed (1) comprising a bottom frame (2) including support means (5) for engaging an underlying ground and a bed frame (3) comprising a bed surface (6) for supporting a person lying in the bed (1). The bed frame (3) is rotatably connected to the bottom frame (2) in at least one tilt joint (7) having a tilt rotational axis (8) extending substantially parallel with the longitudinal extent of the bed (1) and the tilt rotational axis (8) being arranged at a central longitudinal area (9) of the bed frame (3). The bed (1) further comprises a tilt mechanism (4) connected to the bottom frame (2) in a bottom frame point of attack (10) and to the bed frame (3) in at least one bed frame point of attack (11) to tilt the bed frame (3) around the tilt rotational axis (8) and wherein the at least one bed frame point of attack (11) is arranged between the central longitudinal area (9) and the outer periphery (12) of the bed frame (3). The bed (1) further comprises a tilt mechanism (4) connected to the bottom frame (2) in a bottom frame point of attack (10) and to the bed frame (3) in at least one bed frame point of attack (11) to tilt the bed frame (3) around the tilt rotational axis (8), wherein the at least one bed frame point of attack (11) is arranged between the central longitudinal area (9) and the outer periphery (12) of the bed frame (3).
