PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerating agent for synthesizing DHA in a living body so as to be able to substitute the supply of the DHA with the agent capable of accelerating the synthesis of the DHA in the living body not by taking the easily oxidizable DHA as fish oil.
SOLUTION: This accelerating agent for synthesizing the DHA in the living body is provided by using odd wakame seaweeds easily available by a large amount, stably and inexpensively, as a raw material and obtaining algae oil containing much fucoxanthine or &ge99% purity fucoxanthine as the agent. The fact that they have a function of the accelerating agent for synthesizing the DHA in the living body is checked by various animal experiments.
