PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waist protector having a mold support tailored to the body shape of a user and also to provide a method of using the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a waist protector 1000 comprising: a waist support part 100 having an inside surface to support a waist portion of the back of a user and having an outside surface in which a support insertion space is formed； outer waist bands 300 which are formed in a pair and respectively linked to both sides of the waist support part, and the ends of which are provided with first coupling members 330； detachable inner waist bands 200 which are provided inside the outer waist bands in a pair, and respectively linked to both sides of the waist support part, and the ends of which are provided with second coupling members； and a mold support inserted into the support insertion space to support the waist of the user. When the waist of the user is wrapped and pressed by the waist support part using the outer waist bands and the inner waist bands, the mold support is formed and hardened into a shape corresponding to the pressed waist portion of the user to support both sides of the spine of the user.
