An implantable access chamber can be configured to be inserted into tissue of a subject. The implantable access chamber can comprise a sensor arranged therein, wherein the sensor is configured to sense at least one analyte of interstitial fluid of the subject. The implantable access chamber can include a barrier portion defining a cavity. The barrier portion may be a material permeable to the interstitial fluid and occlusive to cells of the subject.
