PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base soil coating board for vegetables, fruits, and the like, coating soil through easily attaching to a vegetable or fruit plant, intended for preventing high temperature trouble, soil dryness, soil rebound and weeds and having an easy and inexpensive structure. SOLUTION: This base soil coating board 10 for vegetables, fruits, and the like, coats soil surface around the base of a plant such as a vegetable and a fruit. The coating board has a penetration part 12 to pass the stem 102 of the plant such as the vegetable and the fruit through in a penetration state, and an insertion passage means 14 continuing from the penetration part 12 to the periphery of the coating board 10 while communicating with the penetration part 12 and attaching to the penetration position of the penetration part by insertion action from the outside.
