PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which has a reinforcement structure by braiding, places a low burden on a blood vessel, has smooth reachability, and has sufficient pressing property as a rigidity on the proximal side is enhanced.SOLUTION: An outer diameter of a shaft of the catheter 10 contracts toward a distal end part 26 side. A reinforcement layer 34 (braid 35) provided in the shaft 12 has a first spiral part 38 and a second spiral part 50 different in spiral direction from each other. The number of windings of a second spiral part is larger than that of a first spiral part.
