A urinary catheter assembly having a sleeve (7) is provided. The urinary catheter has a hydrophilic surface. During storage the sleeve includes the swelling medium for activation of the hydrophilic surface. The sleeve is connected to a connector (9) and handle (8), the handle may be slid along the outer surface of the urinary catheter and during this sliding process, the sleeve is collapsed towards the connector.
