PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique quickly and surely storing image data of medical images.SOLUTION: This medical image storage apparatus 100 is provided with image management servers 1 and 2, and NAS (Network Attached Storage) 3. The image management server 1 stores the image data Di from a modality 20 without writing through them. The image management server 2 stores the image data D1 while writing through them. The NAS 3 stores the image data Di and provides them to an image viewer 400. The image management server 1 can quickly execute receiving and storing processes of the image data Di and a process of registering them into the NAS. The image management server 2 can surely execute the receiving and storing processes of the image data Di and the process of registering them into the NAS.
