A topical composition containing an alkoxylated diphenylacrylate compound and an aryl carboxylic ester is provided. Preferably, the topical composition is a sunscreen composition containing &alpha；-ethylhexyl &alpha；-cyano-&bgr；-(4-methoxyphenyl)-&bgr；-phenylacrylate and 2-phenylethyl benzoate, and optionally further containing 4,4&prime；-t-butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, which is characterized by improved photo-protection of the skin and is effective in preventing/reducing photo-damage of the skin upon exposure to sunlight or other sources of light in the ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared (IR) ranges.알콕시화된 디페닐아크릴레이트 화합물 및 아릴 카르복실산 에스테르를 함유하는 국소용 조성물이 제공된다. 바람직하게는 국소용 조성물은 α-에틸헥실 α-시아노-β-(4-메톡시페닐)-β-페닐아크릴레이트 및 2-페닐에틸 벤조에이트를 함유하고, 선택적으로 4,4'-t-부틸 메톡시디벤조일메탄을 추가로 함유하는 자외선 차단제 조성물이며, 피부의 개선된 광보호를 특징으로 하고, 태양광 또는 자외선(UV), 가시광선, 및 적외선(IR) 범위의 다른 광원에 노출시에 피부의 광-손상을 방지/감소하는데 효과적이다.
