Devices are described which facilitate intermittent and/or partial obstructionof a pyloricvalve. Devices generally include an occlusion member for preventing the devicefrom passingthrough the pyloric valve for contacting tissue adjacent the pyloric valve toobstruct the valve.Some embodiments also include a connecting member extending from the occlusionmember forhelping position the device for obstructing the valve. A retaining distalocclusion member mayoptionally be included on the distal end of the connecting member for furthermaintaining aposition of the device in the stomach.
