It is intended to provide a method of producing an intraocular lens whereby secondary cataract arising after inserting an intraocular lens can be prevented and an intraocular lens for inhibiting secondary cataract which comprises an intraocular lens produced by this method. Namely, a method of producing a surface-treated intraocular lens comprising irradiating an intraocular lens with an active light, which can decompose oxygen molecules to generate ozone and further decompose the ozone to form active oxygen, in the presence of oxygen and an intraocular lens for inhibiting secondary cataract which comprises a surface-treated intraocular lens produced by this method.
