The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising an extract of a mixture including Pisum sativum, Scutellaria baicalensis, Ulmus davidiana, and Hippophae rhamnoides fruit as an active ingredient for skin damage treatment and skin-protection, wherein the extract can suppress the expression of AhR or CYP1A1 genes which are increased by benzopyran and exhibit an excellent effect on skin protection through the treatment of skin cell damage caused by heavy metals and alleviation of skin irritation, and thus, can be used for a cosmetic composition or a pharmaceutical composition for treating skin damage and protecting skin.본 발명은 완두콩, 황금, 유근피 및 산자나무 열매 혼합물의 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 상기 추출물은 벤조피렌에 의해 증가된 AhR 또는 CYP1A1 유전자 발현을 억제시키고, 중금속에 의한 피부 세포 손상 개선 및 피부 자극 완화를 통해 피부 보호에 우수한 효과를 발휘할 수 있어 피부 손상 개선 또는 보호용 화장료 조성물 또는 약학 조성물로서 용이하게 이용될 수 있다.
