The parameter of a target value of image quality includes a parameter of image processing of an image processing circuit to display a predetermined image quality and a parameter of display processing of the display device. An adjustment of image quality in the image processing apparatus is performed by adjusting a processing parameter when performing image processing on the image data that is output to the display device based on the parameter of the display processing characteristic corresponding to the display device that is a destination and on the parameter of the target value of image quality.
