An electrode connectivity determination system is coupled to a plurality of patient attachable electrodes (305,315). Such a system includes a comparator (306) for performing a comparison of a low frequency differential signal derived from at least two of the patient attachable electrodes with a predetermined threshold signal (DT) and a decision processor (308) for generating a signal indicating an electrode signal is at least potentially degraded in response to said first comparison. Preferably the system further comprisesa second comparator (210(a)) for performing a second comparison of a low frequency signal derived from one of said patient attachable electrodes with a second predetermined threshold signal (AT) and thedecision processor generates a signal indicating an electrode signal is at least potentially degraded in response to said first and said second comparisons.
