According to an embodiment of the present invention, the present invention relates to an apparatus for inspecting a tinnitus comprises: a stimulus sound generating unit for generating a first stimulus sound including background noise and pulse noise, and a second stimulus sound including the background noise and the pulse noise having a silent gap； an auditory evoked potential (AEP) measuring unit for measuring a first waveform of an AEP of an examinee in accordance with the first stimulus sound, and a second waveform of the AEP of the examinee in accordance with the second stimulus sound； an amplitude and gap prepulse inhibition ratio (GPI) calculation unit for measuring a GPI which is the ratio between inter-pole amplitudes of the first and second waveforms； and a classifier having a reference GPI measured from a plurality of tinnitus patients and a normal group pre-stored therein, receiving the measured GPI of the examinee, and inspecting whether the examinee has the tinnitus on the basis of the reference GPI. The apparatus of the present invention can objectively inspect whether an examinee has a tinnitus.본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이명 검사 장치는 배경음(background noise)과 펄스음(pulse noise)을 포함하는 제1 자극음과, 무음 간격(silent gap)이 있는 배경음과 펄스음을 포함하는 제2 자극음을 생성하는 자극음 생성부와, 제1 자극음에 따른 피검자의 청성 유발 전위(AEP)의 제1 파형과, 제2 자극음에 따른 피검자의 청성 유발 전위의 제2 파형을 측정하는 청성 유발 전위 측정부와, 제1 파형의 극점간 진폭과, 제2 파형의 극점간 진폭 간의 비율인 GPI(Gap Prepulse Inhibition ratio)를 측정하는 진폭 및 GPI 연산부와, 복수의 이명 환자 및 정상군에게서 측정한 기준 GPI를 기 저장하고 있고, 피검자의 측정된 GPI를 입력 받아, 기준 GPI를 기초로 피검자의 이명 여부를 검사하는 분류기를 포함한다.
