In some embodiments, therapeutic treatments for a disease such as a cancer are disclosed, including pharmaceutical compositions and methods of using pharmaceutical compositions for treating a cancer in a human subject wherein the human subject exhibits an elevated concentration of immunoglobulin E (IgE) in plasma obtained from the human subject, comprising the step of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a chemotherapeutic regimen to the human subject in need thereof.
