The present invention relates to a composition for enhancing sanitation of an oral cavity comprising a natural medicinal herb extract as an active ingredient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for enhancing sanitation of an oral cavity, comprising extract of at least one selected from Impatiens balsamina L. and Xanthii Fructus and a natural medicinal herb extract of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi / Paeonia suffruticosa as an active ingredient for halitosis-inducing microorganisms and mucous membrane infection. The composition according to the present invention provides excellent effects of preventing and treating periodontal diseases, preventing dental caries and eliminating halitosis and effects of a natural antibiotic and preservative. Particularly, the composition according to the present invention enhances a synergic effect against halitosis-generating microorganisms and oral cavity mucous membrane infection-inducing microorganisms, an effect of inhibiting plaque formation and an effect of alleviating gingivitis through an adequate combination of naturally occurring material complexes providing antibacterial and antifungal activities. In addition, the composition uses no alcohol to prevent oral cavity dryness.
