Nanoparticles comprise a drug, a first block polymer and a second block polymer. The first block polymer has a poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) block and a polycarbonate block bearing a side chain aromatic nitrogen-containing heterocycle (N-heterocycle). The N-heterocycle can be in the form of a base, a hydrosalt of the base, a sulfobetaine adduct of the base, or a combination thereof. The second block polymer has a PEO block and a polycarbonate block bearing a side chain catechol group, which can be present as a catechol, oxidized form of a catechol, and/or a polymerized form of a catechol. The nanoparticles can be dispersed in water and are capable of controlled release of the drug.Linvention concerne des nanoparticules comprenant un médicament, un premier polymère séquencé et un second polymère séquencé. Le premier polymère séquencé a une séquence poly(oxyde déthylène) (POE) et une séquence polycarbonate portant un hétérocycle contenant un azote aromatique en chaîne latérale (N-hétérocycle). Le N-hétérocycle peut se présenter sous la forme dune base, dun sel hydraté de la base, dun produit daddition sulfobétaïne de la base, ou dune combinaison de ceux-ci. Le second polymère séquencé a une séquence POE et une séquence polycarbonate portant un groupe catéchol en chaîne latérale, qui peut être présent sous la forme dun catéchol, dune forme oxydée dun catéchol, et/ou dune forme polymérisée dun catéchol. Les nanoparticules peuvent être dispersées dans de leau et sont aptes à une libération contrôlée du médicament.
