<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide clear images in both of distant and near observations by uniformly illuminating from a near part to a distant part and preventing easy occurrence of halation and insufficient illumination. <;P>;SOLUTION: This endoscope 100 is disposed with an observation window of an imaging optical system and light illumination windows of a plurality of illumination optical systems at the distal end side of an insertion section 31 whose proximal end side is connected to a body operation section 29, the light illumination angle of an outgoing light by a first illumination optical system whose light illumination window is disposed close to the observation window out of the plurality of illumination optical systems is set wider than the light illumination angle of an outgoing light by a second illumination optical system which is disposed more distant to the observation window than the first illumination optical system. The illumination optical system includes a light source, a light guide consisting of a light-guiding fiber bundle for guiding the light from the light source to the light illumination window, and an optical functional member disposed between the light illumination window and the light guide, and the light illumination angle is set according to the optical characteristics of the optical functional member. <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
