PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animal ectoparasite-controlling agent having an excellent controlling effect for parasites which parasitize an animal body surface, animal hair, or a position near them, and harm the animal.SOLUTION: The animal ectoparasite-controlling agent contains pyrifluquinazon or salts thereof as an active ingredient, and has an excellent controlling effect for injurious insects such as flea, lice, and lxodidae which parasitize a dog, a cat, a cow, a horse, a pig or a sheep.
