NZ 595749 Disclosed is the use of an inhibitor as defined herein for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of one or more d-IBS (diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome) symptoms of diarrhoea, abnormal stool frequency, abnormal stool consistency or presence of urgency, wherein the inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of: an extract from Croton spp. or Calophyllum spp.； latex from Croton spp. or Calophyllum spp.； proanthocyanidin polymer composition from a Croton species or Calophyllum species； and crofelemer, wherein the amount of inhibitor is bioequivalent to crofelemer at a dosage of 50 mg per day to 750 mg per day.
