PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make ultrasonic waves selectively act on an intended area.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic treatment instrument includes: a columnar ultrasonic vibrator 5 for generating ultrasonic vibrations of different vibration modes by applying alternating voltages of different frequencies a probe 3 in which one end is connected to the ultrasonic vibrator 5 and which is extended in the longitudinal direction of the ultrasonic vibrator 5 and a holding part 8 capable of holding the ultrasonic vibrator 5 at the position of the node of the ultrasonic vibrations in the respective vibration modes.
