PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an absorber which has a high density part and a low density part of distinctly different densities.SOLUTION: In a deposition step, a raw material of the absorber is deposited in a recess part 22 which satisfies all (A) to (C) below. In a press step, a deposition body 32 which is separated from the recess part 22 is pressurized to obtain the absorber which has the high density part and the low density part of different densities from each other. (A) The bottom surface of the recess part 22 is constructed by including strong suction parts 23 which perform relatively strong suction and weak suction parts 24 which perform relatively weak suction, and the strong suction parts 23 have portions sandwiched between the weak suction parts 24. (B) The depth from an outer peripheral surface 21 of the weak suction part 24 is shallower than the depth from an outer peripheral surface 21 of the strong suction part 23.
