The present disclosure provides intact bacterial-derived minicells containing nucleic acid adjuvants or plasmids encoding nucleic acid adjuvants that can generate a desired immune response in target cells. This disclosure further provides methods of using minicells to deliver nucleic acid adjuvants for use in the treatment of diseases including neoplastic diseases and cancer.
