PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve weight reduction and size reduction of a spool brake device used for a fishing reel.SOLUTION: A spool brake device 20 brakes rotation of a spool 12 which is rotatably supported to a reel body. The spool 12 being a conductive body can be regarded as a conductive body which rotates in linkage with the spool 12. A holding member 81 holds plural magnets 51 arranged on a face facing a rotation face of the spool 12, and forms a magnet unit. A support plate 82 and an oscillation shaft 83 support the magnet unit in a manner of movable between a separation position separated from the rotation face of the spool 12, and an approach position approaching to the rotation face of the spool 12. A spring and a spring pressing tool 84 energize the magnet unit from the approach position to the separation position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】魚釣用リールに用いられるスプール制動装置の軽量化と小型化を図る。【解決手段】スプール制動装置２０は、リール本体に回転可能に支持されるスプール１２の回転を制動する。導電体であるスプール１２は、スプール１２に連動して回転する導電体と見なせる。保持部材８１は、スプール１２の回転面に向き合う面に並べられた複数の磁石５１を保持し、磁石ユニットを構成する。支持板８２と揺動軸８３は、磁石ユニットをスプール１２の回転面から離隔した離隔位置とスプール１２の回転面に近接した近接位置との間で移動可能に支持する。バネとバネ押さえ８４とで、磁石ユニットを、近接位置から離隔位置に付勢する。【選択図】図３
