The invention relates to a material comprising at least one electronegative fibre having a negative charge density of between 0.01 and 5 mmol/g and a liquid absorption capacity of between 10 and 20 g of physiological serum per gramme of fibre, for use in the healing of wounds, and preferably in the cleaning of wounds. The invention also relates to a medical device, such as a wound-healing dressing or a bandage, comprising such a material.
