A collector (46) for connection with a medical / surgical waste collection unit, the waste collection unit (30) presenting a receiver (44) for receiving the collector, said collector comprising: a housing (158, 164) which has an empty space, the housing being sized for adjustment within the receiver of the waste collection unit, at least one joint (48) fixed to the housing (158, 164) that extends at a distance from the housing, the connection being sized to receive a suction line (50), in which at least one inlet hole (237) formed in the manifold provides a fluid communication opening between the joint (48) and the empty space of the housing； a valve unit (248) associated with the joint (48), the valve unit being configured to allow fluid flow through the joint into the empty space of the housing and block fluid flow from the empty space of the accommodation out through the joint； and an outlet opening (170) of the housing that allows fluid to flow from said empty space to the interior of the waste collection unit, in which the housing (158, 164) is formed to present a rib (239) which projects inwards from the housing and extends circumferentially around each entrance hole (237)； characterized in that the valve unit (248) is a flapper valve unit disposed within the empty space of the housing and includes: a connection mouth (250) that is held within the housing； at least one valve member (262) connected on pivot with and extending from said connection mouth (250), each valve member (262) being located and sized to cover a hole (237) and to be located adjacent to said rib (239) surrounding the hole (237)； and a joint (260) extending between said connection mouth (250) and each valve member (262) and pivotally connecting said valve member (262) with said connection mouth (250).Un colector (46) para su conexión con una unidad de recogida de desechos médicos / quirúrgicos, presentando la unidad (30) de recogida de desechos un receptor (44) para recibir el colector, comp
